Parks & Playgrounds

Overland Park is home to over 80 parks and open spaces that are essential to the quality of life in OP. Whether you want to run, walk, bike, fish, roller hockey or just enjoy the outdoors, each park has its own uniqueness. The parks in Overland Park make up a total of 996 acres of land – that’s bigger than Central Park in NYC.

If you are in the mood for a picnic or small gathering, most parks have shelters to help host in the great outdoors. Six parks have heated restrooms open year-round. If the summer heat is turned up, cool off and keep the kids entertained at one of Overland Park’s splash pads at Thompson Park, Roe Park or Sapling Grove Park. Check out one of Overland Park’s newest renovated parks, Strang Park. It’s Overland Park’s first all-accessible park.
