Looking for an exciting place in the Kansas City Metro that combines the thrill of sports with endless entertainment options? The brand-new AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk in Overland Park just opened its doors after completing phase one of construction, and it’s truly a one-of-a-kind facility.
Entertainment
Our family had hours of fun on our first visit, conquering new heights on the unique Roll Glider Ride. The 715-foot aerial zipline suspends you on a track high above the gaming area and launches you around the facility. It was even faster and more fun than we expected!
We also had a little friendly competition with the sports simulator and in a game of laser tag. My boys loved the sports simulator, which lets you practice pitching a baseball, swinging a golf club or kicking a soccer ball. Our biggest laughs came on Hawk’s Dark Ride, an immersive virtual simulator. It gives you the feel of being on a roller-coaster but in comfortable movie theater seats. It’s definitely a must-try!
Mom Pro Tip: Don’t let your kids pick the scary clown option where they laugh at their mom being startled throughout the ride.
Sporting Facilities
From the moment you walk in, you’ll be captivated by the sheer size and variety of activities available. Here’s what you can expect:

Phase 2 of construction will add 170,000 more square feet, which will include the addition of a second sheet of ice (for two total rinks) and more.
One of the most impressive aspects of the facility is the mixed use courts, which can be transformed into a championship arena that can seat up to 3,200 spectators. You can expect large events, sports tournaments and even family-friendly entertainment shows in the future!
Food and Beverage
After you've worked up an appetite competing and playing, head to the Grab-n-Go Café & Bar for a quick bite. The on-site Bar & Grill is located upstairs and there you'll find a delicious selection of new American favorites prepared on-demand. You can even indulge in an old fashioned or grab a local brew while you dine! As a mom of a tween and teen, I loved the ability to see almost the entire space from the mezzanine level which overlooks the complex.
In addition to the multi-sport complex, the Bluhawk District will be expanding to include retail space, new restaurants, numerous lodging options, and more.
