The Inked Page Bookstore

There's a brand-new independent bookstore in Downtown Overland Park that specializes in mystery, horror and thrillers!
The Inked Page Bookstore's shelves are lined with meticulously curated books that span several genres: mystery, thriller, horror, dark romance, sci-fi, and true crime.
In the back of the store, customers can sit down and read in the parlor with vintage couches, lamps and even an old-school TV.
Plus, they have a small selection of gifts and home goods from local artists and makers.
Home Run Dugout
5801 West 135th Street
The first stage of The College Baseball Hall of Fame is officially open!
Located inside the Museum at Prairiefire, the first stage features a Home Run Dugout virtual batting experience and a temporary exhibit.
The Home Run Dugout has two state-of-the-art simulated batting bays where visitors can test their swing and try to hit one out of virtual ballparks like Kauffman Stadium.
Admission is just $5 and includes access to the Museum at Prairiefire and the College Baseball Hall of Fame. The batting experience is an additional $10 for 20 swings.
Black Rose Coffee Co.
11216 Switzer Road
One of our favorite vendors from the Overland Park Farmers Market just got their own permanent space inside Entity Lounge.
Black Rose Coffee Co. was started by two Kansas City-area siblings with a shared passion for hospitality and entrepreneurship.
They serve coffee and espresso drinks with unique housemade syrup flavors like cardamom, spicy agave and black sesame rose.
You can also order tasty breakfast sandwiches, burritos, egg bites, and pastries.
Slick City
11401 Metcalf Avenue
Slick City brings indoor adventure to a whole new level with giant slides, climbing areas and attractions designed for kids and adults.
Guests can race side by side, test their courage on steep drops and spend hours exploring the massive indoor slide park.
It is an exciting option for family outings, birthday parties and active fun in any weather.
Bespoke Beauté Lab
7224 West 79th Street
Bespoke Beauté Lab is bringing a custom lip color experience to Downtown Overland Park, where guests can create their own gloss, liquid lipstick, or classic bullet lipstick.
You can choose the shade, finish, scent, and add-ins like extra moisture, plumper, or sunscreen.
In-store bookings are now live and should be made online in advance.
The Dressing Room at Heddi Monro
7900 Cosner Street
A speakeasy-style cocktail bar disguised as a boutique just opened Downtown Overland Park!
The Dressing Room at Heddi Monro is located on the ground floor of InterUrban Art House.
Upon walking in, you can browse and shop women's clothing and accessories from Heddi Monro's boutique.
Walk past the racks of clothing and you'll find a secret door to the speakeasy lounge with cocktails and mocktails made from female-owned brands like Mean Mule Distilling Co. and Café Corazon.
Just be ready to answer the secret trivia question to get in. Here's a hint: the answer is a woman's name!
Tallboyz Garage
7925 Marty Street
Although it's not technically a new restaurant, Tallboyz Garage is the next chapter for the old Brew Lab space.
The taproom has been refreshed into an easygoing neighborhood hang with craft beer, tallboys, cocktails, street tacos, smash burgers, shareables, chicken sandwiches, catfish, brunch, and specials throughout the week.
Add in trivia, karaoke, live music, board games, pool, darts, and space for private parties, and it's the perfect spot built for casual dinners, game nights, and watching the big game in Downtown Overland Park.
Sandlot Social

Sandlot Social brings baseball, food, drinks, and game-day energy all under one roof.
Step into one of 10 interactive batting suites and try Home Run Derby, batting practice, team battles, point games, or target practice using real-pitch technology that tracks every swing, ball speed, and distance.
The full kitchen serves appetizers, burgers, salads, wraps, sandwiches, and hot dogs. If you're thirsty, grab a dirty soda, beer or cocktail from the bar.
And the massive 750+ square-foot LED screen makes it just as fun to watch the game as it is to play!
The simulators can be booked for 60-, 90- or 120-minute increments. Up to 24 people can share one batting suite. Pricing starts at $75/hour Monday-Friday and $110/hour on Saturdays and Sundays. Reservations are recommended and can be made online.

The Grateful Bagel

Craving a New York style bagel? Get ready, because The Grateful Bagel is opening in Overland Park this fall! This family-run, neighborhood shop will serve kettle boiled bagels with lots of schmear, hot breakfast sandwiches, daily pastries, quality coffee. Stay tuned for an official opening date coming soon.
Flight Crew Coffee
8025 Santa Fe Drive
A new coffee shop has been cleared for takeoff! Flight Crew Coffee, based out of Manhattan, KS, is opening their second location in Downtown Overland Park this fall. They will serve a menu full of flight-themed drinks using beans roasted by Post Coffee Company and pastries baked from scratch. The space will have plenty of seating for long conversations, remote working and breakfast dates.
Kata Nori Hand Roll Bar
4929 West 119th Street
Overland Park is about to get a stylish sushi destination with the arrival of Kata Nori, a hand roll sushi bar. Expected to open in summer 2026 in Hawthorne Plaza, Kata Nori will bring its signature U-shaped counter experience to OP, where guests can watch hand rolls prepared to order with seafood air-shipped weekly from Japan and served immediately. The menu also includes seasonal crudos, refined small plates, and a cocktail and sake program.
Yard House
Nall Avenue & West 115th Street
Local diners and visitors have something new to look forward to as Yard House plans a location in the mixed-use development coming to Central OP. The restaurant will serve classic American fare and draft beers. Construction is underway with an anticipated arrival in late 2026, meaning Overland Park’s food scene will soon have a new locally-loved spot for dinner and drinks.
The Capital Grille

Get ready for the ultimate fine dining experience, because The Capital Grille is coming to Overland Park in 2026! Announced alongside Yard House and a four-story AC Hotel by Marriott, the upcoming Capital Grille will bring its signature upscale steak, seafood, and extensive wine program South of the metro.
Añejo Modern Mexican Cuisine
11149 West 95th Street
Shopping at Oak Park Mall will soon come with a side of chips, salsa and a margarita flight. Añejo Modern Mexican Cuisine has announced they will be opening a restaurant in the mall in 2027. The restaurant will serve sizzling fajitas, tacos, burritos, and other house specialties. The drink menu is also stacked with margarita flights, specialty cocktails and frozen specialties.
