Facility ListingsA number of facilities are available to host sporting events. Overland Park’s newest facility, a 12-field all-weather turf, lighted soccer and multipurpose complex, opened in September 2009. The complex is complete with grandstand seating at the championship field, a multi-purpose fieldhouse with meeting facilities and wireless Internet throughout the park. While location plays a role in the success of these events – within a day’s drive for more than 60 million people – the story goes much further than location. It starts with superb facilities and finishes with nationally-recognized superior service in tournament operations, hospitality and lodging. The success of these countless events over those years has positioned the Overland Park community as one of the country’s premier locations for youth sports. In 2008, the Overland Park Convention & Visitors Bureau launched the Overland Park Sports Alliance in a strategic effort to increase the level of youth sports business in the community and support the demands of the new soccer and multi-purpose complex.
