Overland Park was recognized in "Business Development Outlook" in 2001 as the second best city in America to live. It was also recognized by the same publication in 2000 as one of the top 10 communities for doing business.
Historic Downtown Overland Park will capture your interest with its historic charm and small town flair. The area originally bustled with horse-drawn traffic and daily stops of the famous Steam Electric Interurban Railroad Line. Nearly a century later, the 25-block radius boasts a vibrant shopping and restaurant district featuring nearly 300 locally owned and operated venues. Located just off Metcalf between 78th and 83rd streets, this shopping and entertainment district has been designated a “Main Street” city.
The district also features several special events throughout the year. A few events are highlighted for you here, check the events calendar for complete listings.
