Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbecue

Fine dining meets BBQ at Fiorella’s. BBQ is served with linens instead of wet wipes. They have great brisket and their locally inspired sandwiches, but if you want to try something unique go for the award-winning rack of lamb or the bone-in ribeye. Don't forget to order the signature pit beans for a side!
Jon Russell's Kansas City Barbeque

Known as a micro smokehouse, Jon Russell’s is a champion of barbeque. Smoky flavors and seasonal inspiration will keep your taste buds craving more. For even more adventure, go for the Grand Champion Combo Plate – don’t forget to top it off with their unique sauces.

Brobecks offers a unique twist to the traditional KC BBQ - they use a specialty rub and serve their meats dry (or without sauce). Their ribs are a solid choice, but the daily specials are a great deal and worth a try every time. If you're really hungry, start with their corn nuggets, which are cheesy delicious!

Burnt End BBQ

Like the name says, order the burnt ends here! Or, try one of their unique takes on BBQ like the smokehouse reuben or a signature bowl. You can't go wrong at this joint, where "Smokey" the pit master has a long history of serving rich, thick cut meats. If you can't decide, try the daily special!
103rd and State Line, Leawood, KS
You'll be greeted every time with a rambunctious "Hi, may I help you?" - which has earned them recognition as one of the Best of Midwestern Hospitality. This place is known for its sauce so be sure to put it on everything! Looking for a recommendation? Try their pulled pork sandwich - always a winner!
Fact: Local rapper, Tech N9ne's song "O.G." features this barbeque joint, as well as, Sir Mix-a-Lot's song "A Rapper's Reputation."
Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que
3002 W. 47th Ave., Kansas City, KS
What started as a championship smoking team has now become Kansas City's most iconic bar-b-que. A true joint, this restaurant is found inside a gas station. Featured on popular television shows, including "Man v. Food" and "The Bachelor". A must try is the Z-Man (comes in a vegetarian style as well).
Arthur Bryant's Barbeque
1727 Brooklyn Ave., Kansas City, MO
This is legendary BBQ and as it goes, this is where Kansas City BBQ became a tradition. Arthur Bryant was known as the "King of Ribs," so the full-slab is a perfect choice. Another mouth-watering option is the sliced pork sandwich, which is so juicy and flavorful! While you’re chowing down, check out the portraits on the wall of famous Arthur Bryant’s customers.
BB's Lawnside Blues & BBQ
1205 E. 85th St., Kansas City, MO
This place combines two of the Kansas City greats into one - BBQ and Jazz/Blues! You've got to try the "BBQ Sundae," which layers beans, coleslaw and pulled pork in a mason jar and is topped with sauce. They also add a unique twist to their fries by battering them before they cook. Plan to go in the evening for live music.
Danny Edward's Boulevard BBQ
2900 Southwest Blvd., Kansas City, MO
BBQ is a family tradition for Danny Edward, aka Little Jake, who is following in his father's footsteps. Locals love their beef brisket, try it as a sandwich or a meat platter. One thing to know, they are only open for lunch and are closed on Sundays. Oh, and don't miss a photo op with his pink pig statue!

Paying homage to the low and slow tradition of barbeque, the Char Bar has a space that entices patrons to mix and mingle in the outdoor beer garden that offers picnic tables, croquet, bocce, tire swings and fire pits. Known as the house of smoked meats, the "Holy Trinity" is a can't-miss choice of burnt ends, brisket and ribs!

A Little BBQ Joint

The shack-like building may be non-descript, but don't be fooled. A Little BBQ Joint offers the eccentric atmosphere that makes BBQ joints famous and they have a great patio! They serve unique and stellar dishes like the potato boat, which is hot potato salad with pulled pork and cheese sauce or the brisket chili that is served from Labor Day to Memorial Day.
